After 60 Years We Are Closing.....

About Us – Marama Pearls

At Marama Pearls, family is the heart of our story. For more than 60 years, we have dedicated ourselves to crafting exquisite Tahitian pearl jewelry that celebrates the beauty of our island home and the traditions of our ancestors. What began as a dream with our grandfather has grown into a legacy, passed down through generations, with each family member contributing their unique talents to honor our shared values of craftsmanship, sustainability, and cultural heritage.

Our Family Story

Our journey began in 1963 with Matahi Temoana (Grandfather, 88), who fell in love with the allure of Tahitian pearls while working as a fisherman. Captivated by their natural beauty, Matahi envisioned sharing the treasures of the lagoon with the world. His hands-on approach to pearl farming and deep respect for the environment laid the foundation for what would become Marama Pearls.

In 1968, Hina Temoana (Grandmother, 73) joined Matahi in his work, adding her artistic touch and design expertise. Hina’s dedication to crafting elegant, one-of-a-kind jewelry helped transform raw pearls into masterpieces, elevating Marama Pearls from a small family venture to an internationally recognized name. Her influence remains an integral part of our brand’s identity.

A New Generation

Their son, Tavai Temoana (Father, 50), embraced the family tradition in his twenties, combining his background in marine biology and business to refine pearl farming techniques. Under Tavai’s leadership, Marama Pearls has grown to embody the perfect balance of innovation and tradition, sharing the beauty of Tahitian pearls with an ever-expanding global audience.

In 2019, Moana Temoana (Daughter, 27) became the newest member of the family business. Armed with a degree in sustainable design and a deep passion for preserving Tahiti’s natural resources, Moana has brought a fresh perspective to Marama Pearls. Her innovative designs and eco-conscious practices ensure that our company continues to honor the land and sea while adapting to modern values.

Our Philosophy

At Marama Pearls, we believe Tahitian pearls are more than gemstones—they are living symbols of our family’s story, the island’s natural beauty, and the cultural legacy of Tahiti. Each pearl tells a tale of dedication, harmony with nature, and the bonds of family.

Every piece of Marama Pearls jewelry is crafted with care and attention to detail, reflecting our values of respect for the environment, timeless artistry, and the importance of tradition.

The Marama Pearls Family

Marama Pearls is more than a business; it is a family legacy, woven with love and passion for the land, the sea, and each other. From Matahi and Hina to Tavai and Moana, our family has worked tirelessly to create jewelry that is not only beautiful but meaningful.

We invite you to become part of the Marama Pearls story—celebrating the elegance of Tahitian pearls and the traditions they represent.
